In fact our chief distiller, Patrick Maguire is a fourth generation son of Tasmania whose expresses his passion and love of whisky through his distilling craftsmanship skills.
He is driven by a quiet belief that he produces a world class whisky sought by connoisseurs around the world.
Under his guidance and skill the Tasmania Distillery is a boutique producer of hand crafted small quantites of pure single malt whisky in the 1860's design, Alembic Charentais Copper Pot still following the tradional methods first devised centuries ago.

In the 2007 edition of his Whisky Bible, UK whisky guru Jim Murray, one of the world’s foremost authorities on whisky, rated the six year old Sullivans Cove Bourbon Cask at 95 points out of a possible 100 describing it as “sensational, truly beautiful and brilliant.” Murray tasted 3,600 whiskies before rating them for the Whisky Bible with just three Scottish whiskies rating 97 and another 25 given 96 points.
In 2008 Gregorie Sarafian a French whisky critic and writer rated the 7 year old expressions of the Sullivans Cove at 97 and 98 points. Only two Scotch whiskies achieved higher.
